The Design Philosophy of the “Time Collection Bed”: Gentle and Detachable Handrail Barrier

Children’s ability to move during sleep often exceeds their parents’ expectations. As a designer humorously noted, if a family sleeps together, waking up in the middle of the night might reveal a little girl’s foot resting horizontally on the designer’s face. This experience deeply reinforced the need for a children’s bed to have a barrier that feels gentle to the touch but can withstand vigorous movement.

However, the handrail barrier is not always necessary. As children grow older, it should gracefully retire. Therefore, the “detachable” design is equally important, requiring the ability to adapt flexibly to the child’s growth.

A gentle yet sturdy handrail that can be easily detached is the foundational design principle of the “Time Collection Bed’s” natural wood barrier.
