Precision in Detail: Accurate Reference Marking

The carefully selected boards are finely processed into two identical triangles, forming the main framework of the bookshelf. The next step involves accurately transferring the reference points from the design blueprint onto these boards to facilitate the installation of metal components that connect the different shelves.

When drawing lines and marking reference points, achieving a positioning accuracy of up to 0.5 millimeters is crucial. This precision ensures that the margin of error during the production process remains between 1 to 2 mm. Any greater deviation could result in a skewed final product. To achieve this precision, we utilize an automatic pencil with a 0.5mm lead along with an engineering ruler to complete the reference point drawings. Each reference point is formed by the intersection of two lines, and we need to draw dozens of such points to ensure that the two symmetrical boards are perfectly equal.

This process requires a keen attention to detail and good eyesight. Given that walnut wood has a dark tone and the 2B pencil is also black, it can be challenging to spot the reference points without careful observation. Therefore, we finally use a white pen to highlight the lines and reference points, making them easier to locate in the subsequent steps.

Once the two boards are aligned and laid flat, with all reference points and lines neatly consistent, the designer experiences the most gratifying sense of accomplishment of the day. 😂
