The Irreplaceability of Natural Wood

This large load of natural wood is intended for a custom order of a five-tier bookshelf and a storage cabinet. Seeing them all lined up, perfectly square and neatly arranged, the designer already feels a bit moved. Up to this point, they have undergone several processes. Initially, the raw boards are planed on both sides, then the uneven edges are trimmed, the length and width are determined according to the design drawings, and finally, the narrow boards are joined to form wider panels. Finally reaching this stage… their journey to transform into beautiful home furniture is just beginning.

Due to the complexity of the preparation process, sometimes defects on the surface of natural wood, such as cracks or knots, make it unusable, requiring a new piece to be prepared. This is why using birch plywood can be a more economical choice; being engineered wood, it comes as a perfectly squared piece with a fixed thickness, ready for immediate use. However, the warmth of natural wood grain is something that engineered wood cannot replace.
