In a designer’s studio, spray painting typically takes place semi-outdoors. The advantage is the assistance of natural wind, which helps the paint dry faster and provides fresher air (though wearing a protective respirator is still a must 🤠). Picture a delightful afternoon like in this video, where the soft sunlight gently falls, and a light breeze flows. Watching the meticulously sanded egret coat rack being evenly covered with water-based paint, swaying in the wind, the result is immensely satisfying and uplifting.
However, life is full of surprises, and sometimes we encounter days with fierce winds (like during the recent Typhoon Koinu). The swings can feel like being on a pirate ship. This is when a designer’s spray painting skills are truly tested. With a spray gun in hand, they move with the sway, continuously adjusting the direction to ensure the paint isn’t blown away by the strong wind.
